Badminton Association of Malaysia (BAM) is still considered the 2012 Olympic Games in London is more important than the Thomas Cup.
Setiausaha Kehormat BAM, Ng Chin Chai said, since the Olympic Games was held in 2012, the priority is certainly to be awarded to the most prestigious sports world.
Clearly, Chin Chai, his behalf did not want to pressuring the players by saying Thomas Cup is also important, thus may affect their performance.

Previously, BAM criticized by country's sports observers expressing their discontent when the national team's preparation is more focused to the Olympics.
Among those who appear criticizing was the former national doubles, Razif Sidek who expressed his disappointment to see the BAM made preparations to face the Thomas Cup.
Clearly, BAM was more concerned with Olympics than the Thomas Cup which should be a balance to face the both of the tournament.
Even, Razif demanding either coach, Coaching and Training Committee (C & T) or HPT to resign if the national team failed to step into Thomas Cup in Wuhan, China next May.
