Premier League 2011-12 week 23 part 2

Alex McLeish was left disappointed after a "pedestrian performance" from his Aston Villa side, despite fighting back to draw 2-2 with QPR.

Arsenal have endured a frustrating season and sit in seventh place in the English Premier League, a massive 17 points behind leaders Manchester City and Manchester United.

The point gained at the Reebok Stadium on Wednesday was Arsenal's first of 2012, and Arteta is fully aware the team have not been performing to their potential.

Sunderland manager Martin O'Neill was ecstatic with Fraizer Campbell's impact in his side's 3-0 win over Norwich City on Tuesday.

Campbell - who was making his first start since August 2010 due to a series of knee problems - opened the scoring with a delightful strike from distance.

The former Manchester United attacker laid on the assist for Stephane Sessegnon's goal shortly after before a Daniel Ayala own goal sealed a victory that lifted Sunderland to eighth on the English Premier League table.

West Bromwich Albion's impressive away form continued as they drew 1-1 with Fulham at Craven Cottage on Wednesday.

Despite sitting 15th on the English Premier League table, Roy Hodgson's side have lost just two of their last nine away matches, with Cameroon international Somen Tchoyi scoring an 82nd minute equaliser for West Brom.

Newcastle United rode their luck at times but did enough to defeat Blackburn Rovers 2-0 at Ewood Park on Wednesday.

A Scott Dann own goal and a late Gabriel Obertan effort sealed all three points for Newcastle, who moved above Liverpool and Arsenal into fifth spot on the English Premier League table with their victory.
