FA Cup 2012 quarter-finals second leg

Defending champions, Terengganu lead the list of four teams that through to the FA Cup semi-finals after beating their opponents respectively in the quarter-finals second leg on Tuesday.

Terengganu, which is also the FA Cup winners of 2000 and 2011, qualified with a 1-0 aggregate over Lions XII from Singapore, although they made a goalless draw in the second leg at Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore.

In the first quarter-final, last Saturday, Mat Zan Mat Aris men win 1-0 at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu, Joseph Kalang Tie was the scorer.





Their neighbors, Kelantan also through after a 2-0 victory over SPA FC through goals from Mohamad Nor Farhan in the 17th minute and Nigerian striker, Onyekachi Nwoha in the 71st minutes at the Sultan Muhammad IV Stadium, Kota Bharu.

The result enables the Kijang squad through to  the semi-final with an aggregate, 5-0. Previously, they beat SPA FC 3-0 at National Stadium, Bukit Jalil, Kuala Lumpur.

T-Team vs Kedah

Kedah also qualified for the FA Cup semi-final after edging T-Team, 2-1 at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu.

Kedah's two goals scored by Ghanaian import, Hamidan Mohamed in the 64th minute and in the 84th minute, while the host's consolation goal scored by Azrul Hazran Amiruddin in the 68th minute.

In the first quarter-final match at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar, last Saturday, both teams were goalless.



Meanwhile, Premier League club, Sime Darby made the biggest shock to reach the FA Cup semi-finals for the first time after thumped Super League club, Johor FC 5-3 on aggregate.

In a match that was held at Pasir Gudang Stadium, Sime Darby gained a 2-1 win through Liberian striker,  Patrick Ronaldinho Wleh in the 2nd minute and the 20th minute, while Lebah squad scored the consolation  goal through Ahmad Fauzi Saari in the 75th minute .

Zakaria Ismail's men also recorded a narrow 3-2 win over Johor FC in the first quarter-finals match at the Selayang Municipal Council Stadium, on Saturday.

The semi-finals, also held using two legs format, will be held on 21st April and 1st May.
