FA Cup 2012 Quarter-finals first leg

Defending champions Terengganu, Kelantan and Kedah through different routes in their FA Cup quarter-finals first leg on Saturday .

Terengganu who won the FA Cup in 2000 and 2011 is only able to record a narrow victory, 1-0 against Lions XII from Singapore at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium, Kuala Terengganu.


Penyu midfielder Joseph Kalang Tie, emerged as hero of his team after scoring the winning goal in the 65th minute.

The goal was due to Kalang Tie's kick that deflected visitors defender, Sevki Sha'ban before through into the net that beat Hyrulnizam Juma'at at Lions XII's goal.

Before the goal, the visitors are men down when defender Hariss Harun received a red card from referee Syed Azhar Syed Kamar for nudging Liberian striker, Francis Forkey Doe in the 53rd minute.

Their neighbors, Kelantan had a comfortable win, 3-0 over SPA FC at the National Stadium in Bukit Jalil.

Skipper, Mohd Badhri Radzi opened the scoring for Kijang in the 45rd minute before midfielder Nor Farhan net the second four minutes later.

Nor Farhan scored the third goal in the 79th minute.

Meanwhile, Kedah only able to record a goalless draw  when they met Terengganu's representative, T-Team at Darul Aman Stadium, Alor Setar.

Sime Darby also gained a narrow victory, 3-2 over Johor FC in Selayang Municipal Stadium in another quarter-final action on Friday.

In the second action of FA Cup quarter-final on Tuesday, Terengganu will travel to Jalan Besar Stadium, Singapore to against Lions XII. Kelantan will play at home against SPA FC at the Sultan Muhammad Ke-IV Stadium, Kota Bharu.

In addition, T-Team will host Kedah at Sultan Ismail Nasiruddin Shah Stadium while Johor FC play at home against Sime Darby at Pasir Gudang Stadium.
